Vntg Dramatic Fabric Lampshade with Bold Psychedelic Rainbow Glass Beads Fringe
I started making antique reproduction lampshades in 1980 when I saw some gorgeous shades at Tiffany Designs in North Hollywood… And then found a source for the frames. I was quickly swept up into the pleasure of creating wonderful lighting with fabrics and fringe. Then I bagged up what was still on hand and put them away until now. This lampshade was made in the winter of 1987 when I was in the mood for bright bold color. It is not the least bit subtle – a dramatic option and glows especially in the evening. The frame is a version of the “Open Tulip”. 17″ wide and 12 1/2″ high. The frame is wrapped with bias tape and lined with white polyester. There is extra wrapping along the bottom edge to support the beaded fringe which is directly attached. The main panels are a polyester flower print of bright primary colors alternating with smaller black velvet insets. Everything is hand-stitched – no glue. Stitching is obvious when you look at the underside. The beaded fringe is hand-strung directly from the frame. 600 strands of about 60 size 8 transparent glass seed beads in each 4 1/2 strand of black, aqua, green, yellow, orange, red and blue with alternating dark blue transparent glass tear drops at the end. The shade has considerable weight because of the beads. I was surprised to find staining on on the underside. I have actually forgotten when this happened but I do know that I sometimes jabbed my fingers with the sharp needles and bled. I can’t imagine leaving so much visible and can only surmise that the stains slowly spread out over the years. There is one other thing I must mention. In the lining of one of the large panels is a small puncture. Again I don’t know when or how this came about… It seems like a strange place to have a bit of damage, but thirty-one years can have consequences. This is only visible when looking at the underneath. Très belle lampe sculpture d’époque art deco. Statuettes en metal régule. Globe en verre soufflé, socle en marbre portor. En très bon état, pas de bosse, ni fêlure, couleur d’origine. Juste de petites égrenures sur une bordure du marbre, vraiment pas grand chose et très discret. Ils sont situés a larrière (voir photo 10 et 11) et traces normales du temps qui passe, très belle! Les reflets de couleurs sont dus à la. Elle fonctionne parfaitement, fil torsadé neuf et identique a celui d’origine, prise et interrupteur en b. Les statuettes sont d’une belle finesse, l’abat jour tulipe est superbe! En verre soufflé dépoli en parti. Floral d’un beau relief, superbe allumé! Mesure au total 43cm longueur, 26. 10,5cm au plus large. Pas de problème pour l’expédition, je suis habitué aux livraisons d’objets fragiles, jamais de casse. Vintage Magic Mushroom Lamp Company Los Angeles CA Table Lamp Trippy Works 1980s
This Vintage Magic Mushroom Lamp has so many fascinating parts and pieces. It stands approximately 13 inches tall and is approximately 10 inches wide x 7.00 inches deep. The lampshade IS the mushroom. It has a light bulb, and an electric cord that has the roller type on/off switch. It is made of molded plastic that looks like wood think sirocco of the late sixties/early 70′s? And it has survived completely intact for the most part. It is our opinion that the only parts that are missing is the greenery. The base has a shellac gloss finishes. It is totally a conversation piece! On the back it reads The Magic Mushroom Lamp Company Los Angeles, CA Patent Pending. In Very Good overall condition. Please note the image of the hairline crack below the right smaller mushroom. The lamp shade with what appears to be a manufacturers flaw(hairline crack) at the spot the bulb attachment is attached to the top of the mushroom shade. Bottom of the base reads, Style 315 S 1988 H. Amazing Antique/vintage Cut Crystal Domed Mushroom Lamp 20 Tall Works Great
AMAZING ANTIQUE/VINTAGE CUT CRYSTAL DOMED MUSHROOM LAMP 20 TALL WORKS GREAT! This is an absolutely gorgeous cut crystal lamp. From the cut on glass to the ornate decorated brass band that the crystals hang from, there is lots of detail to catch your eye. I did not not find any cracks, scratches or chips, there is some wear on the edge that fits into brass ring. The lamp does measure 20″ tall with the dome in place, approximately 16″ tall without it, and is 9 1/4 ion diameter. The dome measures approximately 7 1/2″ tall and 9 1/2″ in diameter at its widest point. The 24 crystals attached to the brass? Ring hang down 4 1/4″ in total and are 1″ wide, except for which has been replaced with a slightly different crystal that is 5/8 wide. That crystal and two other crystal have different types of brass wire hangars on them as well. It took me a while to notice the difference.
