Features two metal articulating arms, cast iron joints with steel gear handles, a steel gear base, a steel dome lamp shade and nickel plated socket. The gears are all vintage parts from older vehicles. Wiring is brand new reproduction black twisted cloth cord with a new antique style plug. Everything works perfectly and safely. A gearhead’s dream shop light. I built this lamp to compact dimensions to allow it to fit in many places. The three separate joints enable the lamp to be positioned in a wide variety of ways. The gear handles at all three joints make re-positioning easy. The gear handles can easily be switched to the opposite side. There is a nickel plated ball joint at the shade that allows the shade to rotate from side to side. The lamp socket takes regular sized bulbs and looks great with a reproduction type bulb. The reproduction bulb is not included but I can advise on where they are available. This lamp simply looks stunning. A perfect gift for the desk, office, garage or workshop. Before electricity, gas lines supplied the energy to light many of our homes and workspaces. When the conversion took place, fixtures were often retrofitted to accommodate electric lamps. Such was the inspiration for this ceiling fixture. Drawing upon the minimalist, utilitarian elements of early twentieth century industrial design, we used solid steel and brass and cast iron fittings to construct the main body. Then we strung the wiring and lamp socketsjust as the countless gasmen-turned-electricians who came before us once did. The sockets are handsome reproductions with an oil-rubbed bronze finish and classic flat paddle switches. The wiring is new antique style twisted cloth cord. (Cord shown in vintage brown). A pair of brass cone lamp shades rounds out the look. These are assembled by hand in our shop, and the fixture components are artificially aged to lend each lamp a unique vintage character. The shades are raw brass, and we leave them alone so they will continue to age naturally over time and develop the perfect patina. All parts are quality reproductions making for completely safe and worry-free operation. Fixture mounts to the ceiling via ceiling canopy and hardware. FOR SALE I have an art deco pair of step lamp tables possibly designed by Kem Weber for Royalchrome. The Formica tops are in good condition on one but the base is pitted. The other table the surfaces/edges are messed up (pictured) but the metal is clean. Combine and make one decent table! The tables are structurally solid and very usable as they sit or have them restored to mint original condition. The Formica is slightly different on each table as are the labels underneath.
