These lamps are awesome but need work to bring them back to their glory. These are copper lamps and need to be rewired, cleaned, polished if desired and have the shields added to achieve the completed look. They are awesome without the lamp shields, however, I believe that reproductions are available to give them the intended look. You can see a screw is missing also… As well as a switch. Fantastic antique’Howe’ model B sewing machine which has been converted to a table lamp. We think this was converted quite a long time ago as the electrical side of things were vintage and we have had the lamp rewired by an electrician and pat tested to meet today’s safety standards. It now has a new bulb holder and flex in vintage style and colour to go with this super lamp. It came with an original vintage shade which is just great. Lovely shape and suits the whole thing perfectly. The sewing machine sits within a hardwood plinth with a new green baise beneath to protect your surfaces. We have carefully cleaned and polished the small machine parts, the black finish of the metal and the wooden plinth but no more. We wanted this to look as old as it is. Features two metal articulating arms, cast iron joints with steel gear handles, a steel gear base, a steel dome lamp shade and nickel plated socket. The gears are all vintage parts from older vehicles. Wiring is brand new reproduction black twisted cloth cord with a new antique style plug. Everything works perfectly and safely. A gearhead’s dream shop light. I built this lamp to compact dimensions to allow it to fit in many places. The three separate joints enable the lamp to be positioned in a wide variety of ways. The gear handles at all three joints make re-positioning easy. The gear handles can easily be switched to the opposite side. There is a nickel plated ball joint at the shade that allows the shade to rotate from side to side. The lamp socket takes regular sized bulbs and looks great with a reproduction type bulb. The reproduction bulb is not included but I can advise on where they are available. This lamp simply looks stunning. A perfect gift for the desk, office, garage or workshop. Arms (from joint to joint): 7.50″, 8.50″. Steel shade: 6.5 diameter. Base: 5.1″ diameter, approximately 2.75″ from tabletop to first joint. Weight: 8.0 lbs. Please note that this lamp has been custom assembled from repurposed parts, and should be considered a specialty piece. The shade can be attached once received.
