Vintage Retro MCM Table Lamp with Fiberglass Shade
This MCM table lamp is in good shape considering its age. It’s in original condition except for replacement of the electrical cord, lacing and is fully operational. The base appears to be cast plaster in matte white encircled by fine black wavy lines interspersed with green colored circles. Base is trapezoid in shape and measures 14″ X 41/2″ and 4 tall. An original fiberglass shade is light green with scattered white circles that vary in size. The trapezoid shade is fiberglass with some remaining very faint brown staining that is barely discernible. Small white specks of paint are present. Dimensions are 20″ X 8″ and 9 tall. Lacing is new, vinyl and black in color similar to the original which was disintegrated. There are no chips in the base. There is some very superficial crackling in spots on the base as shown in the picture. The original lamp cord was cut but a duplicate lamp I have has the name “Trio” stamped on the plug. Vtg MCM Ceramic Table Lamp with Three Tier Fiberglass Shade Set of Two Atomic
Set of Two Fantastic Vintage Table Lamps! The ceramic base has a swirled design with alternating black and white areas and real gold painted areas. The base measures approx. 12 1/4″ x 4 1/8″. One of the lamps works, and one doesn’t and will need to be re-wired. As with any vintage lamp, rewiring is highly recommended for safeties sake. Ceramic bases are in outstanding condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs! Three Tier Fiberglass Shades feature an atomic starburst design and a metal harp that fits over the light bulb. The leather lashing on one lamp is fraying-see pic 6. The fiberglass is in excellent condition with no cracks or holes!! Shades measure approx 6 3/4″ with the complete lamp measuring 16 3/4″ tall. Super Cool Vintage 50s Ceramic Lamp Fiberglass Shade Mid Century Modern Atomic
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a super cool vintage atomic era ceramic table lamp complete with its original trapezoidal-shaped fiberglass lamp shade. Circa’50s /’60s. The ceramic base is brown in color with scattered white accents (see photos). The base also has a striated texture throughout. The fiberglass shade is beige in color, as is typical from lamps of this era, and it has black, gold and white randoms painted arcs on it throughout. The finial for the lamp is an amber colored glass ball, and we are assuming that it is original to the lamp as well. We are uncertain as to the maker – there are no marks, labels, or tags present. This lamp will make a great addition to any mid century modern or atomic-themed home! With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. The ceramic alone measures approx. 14.5″ tall x 12″ wide x 5.75 deep. The shade alone measures approx. 7″ tall x 13″ wide x 8 deep. Condition: The lamp is in very good condition for its age. The ceramic base is free from chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The fiberglass shade is free from rips, holes, tears, repairs, burn marks, etc. All of the lacing is intact. The shade shows light traces of wear that are consistent with age and use. The bottom edge of the fiberglass material shows very mild discoloration – our guess is it should come out with a gentle washing. We have not attempted to try to clean it any way as it is minor and doesn’t particularly interfere with any thing. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and is in good shape – there are no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires, etc. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring checked by a licensed professional prior to long-term use. The Shade is made from spun Fiberglass and is in very good condition. No damage to it at all. The cord is in good condition. The ceramic part of the lamp has 1 chip in the back, you can see it in the picture. It is just on the surface and does not affect the lamp at all. Other than that it is in very good condition. This lamp features 2 night light bulbs on the stand. I could not get these to work. May need the sockets replaced or you may be ok with them not working. I call this a Cobra lamp because one side of the lamp stand looks like it has a Snake skin pattern. This is a very beautiful impressive lamp from the 50′s! Please look through all the pictures to get a better idea of condition. Items may have lite surface scratches from use that are normal for it’s age. 1950s Mid Century Modern table Lamps atomic fiberglass shades RARE matched pair
This listing is for an amazing pair of mid-century modern table lamps with original fiberglass atomic shades. The lamps are circa 1950s and despite some minor issues they are in overall beautiful, vintage condition. The lamps are approximately 18.5 to 19 inches tall with the shade on. The shade is approximately 10 inches across the top. This is a 3-way lamp. The base lights up, the top lights up, and you can have them both on at the same time to set the perfect mood. The main body of each lamp is made of glass with a metal mount on the bottom. The bodies appear to be in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks or chips. The fiberglass shades are also in excellent condition with no holes or cracks. There are a some light stains in a few spots but they can be turned to the back… And I have not attempted to remove them by cleaning. The metal bases have some oxidation as photos show. I tried to show the worst of the worst on one of the lamps. Both lamps have some of the oxidation in places. Again, I have not attempted to clean the oxidation but I would assume it will not come off. The lamps look beautiful as they are, but it would be simple to remove the bases and spray paint them if you want them to look perfect. The only other issue is that while the cords work and are not brittle, they are original and if I kept the lamps I would replace them. I didnt do that because some purists like to do that themselves. In addition, I would use a gold-colored cord while the originals are white. So I will let lucky winner choose the color for themselves. One of the cords was cut and a new piece was spliced in. Again, it works fine but I would replace it. The base of the lamps are lit with a common nightlight 4 or 5 watt bulb. In the end, I really like the green bulb best and that is what I took photos with and that is what lucky winner will receive. I will leave those in. They are very simple to take out and replace as you see fit. I could go on and on about this pair of fine lamps. They are so incredibly beautiful! To find one of these lamps in this condition is a great find. But to find a pair is a rare opportunity indeed! These matching ceramic base? Lamps are from the c1950s-60s era. They are in very good found condition with no known damage/s to either or missing parts. The multi-tier shades appear to be period fiberglass like/plastic with lacing around the rims of the top and bottom shades and both are with no known damage. The ceramic-like center columns are in premium condition as well as the brass bases and other brass fixtures. Each lamp has the original wiring, cords, plugs and switches.
