Lava Lamp Light Table Lamp from Lava World Modern Classic Style Rare! . Before purchasing please carefully and completely read all of the description below and review all the photos (which are intended to be a significant part of the description). Lamp and lava work perfectly. Lava wax is in good condition (has not been shook up into a mess as some lava lamps end up being). It takes about 30 minutes for the lava to melt and begin gentle gradual movement bottom to top and then return to bottom in a flowing ebb. Includes two new standard bulbs of unknown wattage. You could upgrade it to LED if desired. The electrical cord is in very good usable condition. The on/off switches are in perfect working order. The bulb sockets are defect free. All four rubber feet (original) are on the base and in good condition. The lighting system has two on/off switches, one to turn on the lava base, and another to turn on the dual bulbs. The lamp base is vintage silver metal flake color (not chrome) as well as the center part of the lamp shade. The outer part of the lamp shade (that light glows) is an off white color and looks nice when lit. The lamp shade and base is plastic but the lava lamp itself is constructed of durable real glass. The two rods that hold it together are metal. The general dimensions of the lamp are as follows: It is about 18 inches tall. The lamp shade is 12″ diameter by 4″ tall and the base is 6.5 diameter. The lava lamp visible glass is 8″ tall by 2″ diameter. Lava lamps naturally heat up and stay warm while on in order for the wax to melt and do it’s thing. The standard bulb in the lamp above also get quite warm. That said, be advised this lamp produces a fair amount of heat. Not dangerous to the touch (other than the bulbs themselves of course) but enough to notice. I say this so as to avoid any surprises when you get it and turn it on. The lamp has some blemishes which are not bad, but some are noticeable. I could repair these easily but I prefer to sell vintage items in their original as-found state and leave any modifications up to you. For example you might want to decorate it with a different color than silver! See the last three photos for the following: The base has some paint missing on it’s side which can be turned away to be unnoticed or you could perhaps get some silver touch up paint and restore it. The plastic cap on top that holds the shade in place has a blemish of missing silver that also could be touched up or restored. The underside of the inner silver lamp shade has the usual heat signatures of having light bulbs in it and turned on. That too could perhaps be bleached back white, or painted if you desire. Otherwise that is not noticeable at all unless you get underneath the lamp and look up (like if you place it on a very high shelf). Overall there are other minor and almost unnoticeable blemishes from usage such as mild scratches and a smudge or two. In my opinion these blemishes do not ruin the nostalgic vintage visual value of this item and are certainly repairable and restorable. In terms of it’s availability, when you search this item on the web you find practically nothing. And their listings did not discuss the condition as well as mine and their photos were not as descriptive so those were quite the unknown condition. The item “Vintage!
