1960s Vintage MCM Solid Brass Stiffel Table Lamps
We have a pair of Vintage Solid Brass Vintage Stiffel lamps up for grabs! We have not had them appraised so this is the reason for the low price. One of the cords for the lamp had a label where’The Stiffel Company, Chicago’ can be read which leads us to believe these are Stiffel table lamps made by Ted Stiffel’s company in Chicago, IL in mid-19th century. We love that you use a rotary turn knob, located on the base, for turning the lamp on. I took lots of pictures of the lamps doing quarter turns to show the entire height of the lamp and provided top down views. If you’d like more pictures please message and we’ll respond promptly. The lamps do have some dark spots and a bit of pitting. I cleaned them up with a lemon juice/baking soda paste which helped return some shine to them. Height base to neck Total Height Weight. Vtg. Green/blue swirled, ribbed pottery handled table lamp
Features two semi rectangular shaped handles, a swirled, ribbed design, semi cylindrical form vase. On a circular base. The lamp is quite old, good condition. A small fela bite or so near bottom edge. The underside ridge has shelf wear, the pottery has many flaws. The handles have horizontal lines resembling cracks; they are probably flaws or fire cracks; not hairlines. Lumps, bumps spots and dots in glaze. Electric tape on cord from inside; maybe so cord can be pulled out just so much through hole on side. Probably not to hide a defect since it works electrically. The cord is dirty, the prongs on the plug are wonky but will plug in socket. The socket exterior and harp are dirty, lightly corroded, tarnished. The harp cannot be taken off as it is connected to socket. Beautiful lamp, overall fine crazing. 16.75 from bottom to top of harp. 8.25 from bottom to top of pottery. 10.5″ from bottom to top of socket X 6.25″.
