Ceramic Cone Lamp with Modernist Motif by Guerrieri Murano, Italy, 1950s. A Mid-century modern “Guerrieri Murano” table lamp made in Italy circa 1950′s. This hand-painted ceramic lamp features exquisite stylized decoration, the double cone shape of this ceramic lamp reflects the typical style during the 19 50s of the most famous lighting companies in Italy such as Stilnovo, Arteluce and Arredoluce. This lamp was produced by one of the few laboratories that deal with ceramics , not glass, in Murano, the “Guerrieri” factory. From the information in the database of the Italian ceramics archive (Archivio Ceramica Italiana) it was founded in the 30′s and ceased its activity in the early 1960s. Important artists collaborated in the production of the “Guerrieri” company, including: Umberto Bellotto, Giuliana Bogo, Giuseppe and Novello Rosso, Umberto Soldà and the famous painter Emilio Vedova. Unfortunately I cannot attribute the artist who made the work with certainty. In beautiful vintage condition, working (1 bulb E27), disassembled and cleaned, rewired but still retain, as proof of originality and age, its old ceramic bulb holder, switch and plug which were serviceable. “Guerrieri Murano” signature on base. 8.5 (22cm) – Diameter ca.
