Rare and unique post modern lamp designed by Robert Sonneman for George Kovacs, 1987. Metal cone shade and base with contrasting brushed gunmetal and brass shapes and finishes, lower glass diffuser, and ball finial. Signed with original label to underside. Vintage Magic Mushroom Lamp Company Los Angeles CA Table Lamp Trippy Works 1980s
This Vintage Magic Mushroom Lamp has so many fascinating parts and pieces. It stands approximately 13 inches tall and is approximately 10 inches wide x 7.00 inches deep. The lampshade IS the mushroom. It has a light bulb, and an electric cord that has the roller type on/off switch. It is made of molded plastic that looks like wood think sirocco of the late sixties/early 70′s? And it has survived completely intact for the most part. It is our opinion that the only parts that are missing is the greenery. The base has a shellac gloss finishes. It is totally a conversation piece! On the back it reads The Magic Mushroom Lamp Company Los Angeles, CA Patent Pending. In Very Good overall condition. Please note the image of the hairline crack below the right smaller mushroom. The lamp shade with what appears to be a manufacturers flaw(hairline crack) at the spot the bulb attachment is attached to the top of the mushroom shade. Bottom of the base reads, Style 315 S 1988 H.
