1950s George Nelson For Herman Miller Table Lamp With Glass Top & Single Drawer. Very scarce George Nelson/Herman Miller side table, with original lamp and shade. Made of walnut with block legs. Removable glass top over a deep shelf. Below is a large drawer with a “J” pull. The secondary wood on the drawer is solid oak. The piece does not have its original label inside the drawer. Brushed aluminum rod and round fitting for the circular tube light. Switch on the top surface next to the stem. Open back for easy access to the wiring. Measurements: The base is 34″ deep, 18″ wide and 22.25 tall. To the top of the shade: 43.5. The shade measures 18″ across and 3.5″ high. The finish is in exceptional original condition. There are a few minor marks on the top edge next to the glass, extremely minor. The glass has some scratching and a small chip at one corner (this is hidden by the metal sleeve the glass slides into) so it is not visible. The lamp works perfectly- the switch is a little soft when switched, and new wiring would be good, as this is all original, but it works just find. The shade is original, and has a two small gaps at the taped join where the side meets the top. An extremely scarce piece by famed. All items are hand delivered to your home or place of business. Vintage MCM Mid Century Atomic Ceramic C. Miller 1955 Table Lamp, 2 Tier Shade
This is an original vintage (mid 20th century) ceramic or porcelain table lamp with seafoam green glaze and metallic gold accents, signed C. Miller, 1955 near the bottom. The original two-tier cardboard shade is intact. The lamp is in excellent original condition with only minor light wear to the finish some of the gold is worn away on the edges of the lamp and all metal parts have acquired an aged patina. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs anywhere on the lamp and it stands up straight. The cord and socket are probably original but are in good condition and are working. The shade is metallic gold with stripes and is sturdy, solid, and fully functional. It has a shallow dent on the side with the seam, and the seam has been re-glued. There are a few very minor dings, scuffs, and marks on the shade elsewhere, but no holes, and none of the stitching around the edges is loose. Miller for the Boston Store, Milwaukee, WI. The restored finish is in excellent condition preserving some mars on this vintage pair. Drawers have curved fronts and original hardware. When both dropleaves are raised, tops form graceful oval shapes. Measurements when closed are 24″ wide, 31″ deep and 28″ tall, with both leaves raised, width is 43″ overall.
