Vintage 1960s Toucan Lamp Mid Century Modern. Unbranded, marked MADE IN HONG KONG on underside of base and on lamp switch. Plug is marked KAWASAKI. Condition is “Very good, previously owned”. Fading on beak from lightbulb. Beak stays completely open or closed. In storage since mid 1970s. Interesting article describing the history of plastic goods marked MADE IN HONG KONG. Pair Vintage Cast Brass Reeded/Fluted Corinthian Column Lamp Bases British Made
They have a beautiful Solid Brass, D. Ecorative, Bell-Shaped Capital with Volutes, Three Rows of Acanthus Leaves and a Tiered Cornice. They are in lovely’aged’ condition (minor age related wear) with a superb dull, golden hue and are in full working order. Work well with a variety of shades. Note: Shades in the images are for reference only and are not supplied within the sale. Height (to top of fitting): 475mm. Base Height: 15mm graduating to 47mm. Column Height (including capital): 315mm. Bulb Type: 100W Maximum (Large Bayonet – Not supplied). Switch Type: Screw Mount Snap Fit. Theme: Cast Brass Corinthian Column. Tested and In full working order. Note: I have given this bases a very gentle polish, but not so much as to take away any of the years of patina (just the surface dirt). One lamp wasn’t working when I received it as it had a defective switch that I’ve replaced that is in keeping with the sister lamp. While removing the base plate, there is a sticker that wasn’t visible with the batch, date and model number (pictured). I hope these find a good home! Priced for quick sale. Petie finds a rare one! A FRANKART ART DECO NYMPH FACE NYMPH TABLE LAMP BASE in a Polished Aluminum finish. A very hard to find lamp, this one is a later casting, 1970′S, from the original mold. The lamp body is hand cast aluminum. The lamp is NOT WIRED, NO WIRE AND NO SOCKET, and will work on a 120 volt light bulb, up to 75 watts. THERE ARE NO chips or cracks! The casting is finished in a High Gloss Black Enamel finish. The lamp is hand cast aluminum. The Earth Shade is etched Glass.
