Pair Vintage Pierced Chinese Porcelain Ginger Jar Table Lamps, 1960s Hong Kong
For your consideration, a pair of Chinese pierced porcelain blanc de chine ginger jar table lamps, circa 1960s Hong Kong. The lamps are in overall good condition with mild wear. Some scuffing and scratching to the wood bases and one wood base has been broken and repaired with glue. No major cracks or chips to the porcelain. The jars are a separate base and lid so the construction is slightly loose with the lamp hardware. The wiring and lamp hardware is in good working order but at least 60 years old so you might want to consider having them replaced by a professional for safety. Lamp base measures 12 inches in height, 14.5 inches in height with light socket. Lamps to top of sockets: 18. Lamps to top of finials: 30.5. Weight (not including cords): 7 lbs. They have been tested to make sure they work, and are set for three-way bulbs. The brass ginger jar bases are 10 5/8 wide at the bottom. Theyre made by a company named Mark Thomas, Inc. They arent top tier quality like Frederick Cooper, but they are nice lamps. I would date them to the 80s or early 90s. Both lamps have tarnished spots, including some areas around the bottom that look like splatter. Theres also some light scratching and light dents.
