Iconic Continental Art Co. Vintage Dancers Lamp Pair Mid Century Modern Dancers. This is a great vintage pair of Continental Art Co. They are chalk ware and marked on the bottom side Continental Art Co. The lamps have minor paint loss and a small chip above the woman dancer in the cone carrier above her head – see pics. They have been tested and work. Each lamp has an original fiberglass shade. One of the shades has had an attempt on repairing the leather string that holds the fiberglass shade to the wire frame, it is intact but it was not a good attempt. There is a burn on the same shade from too big a bulb in the lamp. You can see the burn in the pictures but not the leather strap/twine in the pictures. Vintage Nubian Blackamoor Continental Art Co. Chalkware Table Lamps Shades
These are a beautiful and exotic statement pieces. I haven’t seen many with the lamp shades included. Please let me know if you have any questions. These are very durable and heavy pieces. There are a few paint scuffs and one place that has a piece missing near the base. The rare hard to find lampshades are in really good condition but the lace may need replacing. These lamps can be cleaned but I left them for someone that is an expert in that area. The lamp on the right has a bit of a bend in the top of the light function. The finials have been painted 2 different colors. The fiberglass shades do not have rips, or holes. The lacing appears to be original on both shades but there are a few spots where the lacing popped. The shades are structurally very solid. You could re-lace if you wanted. These lamps could use a cleaning. Both lamps are fully functioning. I recommend you have a licensed electrician inspect them prior to long-term use. Base to top of finial is approximately 33. Base of each lamp is approximately 10.5. Missing One lamp shade topper finial is missing, there are some chips in the pieces, both have the felt on the bottom, everything one theses pieces are original.
