Geometric Frosted Glass Table Lamp. This unique Art Nouveau lamp started life as a 1920s ceiling fixture. At some point in its history it was retrofitted with a cord, inline switch and plug. It’s not the only one of its kind, as I have seen other examples of collectors making these into lamps but is One of a kind. You will never see one exactly like it. My father acquired it as a lamp about 15 years ago to add to his lamp collection. I don’t know when it changed from a light fixture to a lamp but from the looks of the cord probably the 1980s. Everything is original accept the wiring. The frosted glass geometric shade is hexagonal in shape and still retains some of its original polychrome highlights in the stylized flower and leaf pattern. The base has three tripod mounts topped by stepped conical finials. Its a soft yellow with subtle green, blue and orange highlights. Base is made of white metal. The lamp comes complete with a deep blue Mood-lites spiral medium base 13w (60w equivalent) bulb but you could always switch it for a different bulb for a more traditional look. Good Overall Condition (see photos – all sides are shown). One small spot on top of shade that is not frosted like the rest (shown in photos) which could be from manufacture. Some shallow heat lines around two of the fixture holes on the underside which is common for these shades (shown in photos). The retrofitted lamp socket is wired tight (cord screwed into socket bottom) but there is no cover on bottom so electrical tape was used as a barrier by previous owner (shown in photos). Random paint loss throughout. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Lamps, Lighting\Lamps”. The seller is “billy_jacks_treasure” and is located in this country: US.
