Vintage Mid Century Mod Thurston for Lightolier Saucer Mushroom Shade Table Lamp
This classic mid 20C Modernist lighting form was designed by the prolific Gerald Thurston, for Lightolier USA. Sleek form and smooth function are matched by very good original condition. There is a small section of acrylic’skip’ of one shade vent ring, detailed in the listing photos. This does not appear when shade is in place-nor does it detract from the integrity, fit or support of the shade; a typical superficial loss, shown for disclosure both off- & atop the lamp, to illustrate. There are no scratches, dents, repairs, cracks or other detractions to note. The original cord is clean and flat. This is a solid example of this now-iconic American Modernist industrial functional design/decor. Vintage Danish Le Klint 313 Art Glass Table Lamp with Le Klint Shade
Vintage Le Klint 313 Art Glass Lamp. This beautiful art glass lamp was designed for Le Klint, Denmark. The lamp has a ribbed design in a graduated rich honey comb colour glass with a satin finish and a gold metal collar with genuine Le Klint folded shade. The underside of the lamp has the original paper and foil stickers. We know this lamp came in at least 2 colours having seen another in white. The lamp has been rewired to comply with Australian standards and has a white power cord with an line switch. The shade as mentioned is a pleated type made from lampshade foil (fancy name for PVC) and if a build up of dust occurs it is simply run under warm water to clean it. There is some pink discoloration seen from within to the top of the shade where it has got a bit too hot. Now days with LED bulbs this is not an issue. The discoloration is clearly shown. It will need to be reattached to the frame on arrival, an easy thing to do. The lamp base is approximately 33cm tall in total including the shade. The glass section of the base section measures approximately 11cm in diameter and 13cm to the top of the brass collar. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It must be used in Australia only, and if bought for international use the power cord will be cut off short. Please note this item is original and not a copy or modern day reproduction. Vintage Mid Century Paul McCobb Pamona Tile Walnut Table Lamp
For Sale Vintage Mid Century Paul McCobb Pamona Tile Walnut Table Lamp. To answer your questions before you ask it, yes, I just have the one. No, I do not have the shade. My house is populated with various items designed by Paul M. They are quite uncommon. Designed by McCobb in 1957 for the Distinguished Designer Series for Pomona Manufacturing Company. Was one of many designers who participated. It is an interesting read, actually, if you have the time. They also included custom triangular shades that matched the shape of the base (google if curious). I tried a few other shades on this and the best I found was a wide, narrow, white linen shade. It looked petty darn good. The base is made out of solid walnut and is substantial. Overall I would say the condition is very good. Tiles are perfect, Walnut is overall in very good condition (see photos). A few areas are darker? Walnut does stain pretty easily. Easily repaired but as you can see pretty minimal. The gilt crosses are also in very good vintage condition. Some spotting but as you can see pretty sweet. There is no harp or finial. You’ll have to come up with something. This is a very uncommon lamp in excellent vintage condition. With a little creativity you are going to own an important piece of 20th century design. DIMENSIONS – To top of wood base = 25.
