Dating to the 1930′s, this unusual ringed glass lamp is a remarkable example of Machine Age modernist design. Currently referred to retro-futurist design, Buck Rogers would certainly have been proud to display this in his home. Unfortunately, there are no makers marks and I have been unable to uncover any information regarding specific provenance. This lamps has been restored and refurbished and is ready for contemporary use. Chrome metal surfaces have been cleaned and polished. The black base disc has been refinished in satin enamel. The original bulb socket has been retained and bulb contacts cleaned and polished. Wiring has been replaced with new reproduction rayon covered power cord and appointed with new vintage style plug. The frosted glass shade is in excellent condition. The black edges of the rings have been restored. The inside of the shade retains most of its original translucent painted finish and has not been further restored. Please refer to the final twp photos for shade condition detail. This lamp utilizes one standard medium (E26) Edison base light bulb. A frosted T10 type tube-shaped bulb was used in lighting for the photographs provided here. Light bulb is not included. Approximate dimensions are as follows: Height with shade: 10-3/4″ Glass shade: 6-3/4″ H X 2-1/2″ Center Diameter X 3-1/4″ Ring Diameter Base: 4-1/4″ diameter X 4-1/4″ H General and critical photos have been provided and are a part of the description for this offering.
