Candlestick Desk Table Lamp in excellent pre-owned condition. Well taken care of, each candlestick holds a bulb controlled by a 3 way switch on the base. You may light 3 bulbs at one time or one at a time. Lamp is 30 tall from base to top of finial. Base is 7 1/2 wide. Shade is 11 1/2″ diameter on top and 14-1/2″ on bottom. Weighs a whopping 9 lbs. Enchanting Vintage 1930s Jadeite Lamp Milky Green Glass
There is something special about this lamp. Im told by family that it is an antique vintage 1930s or 40s jadeite lamp. It really is quite enchanting. It seems to have a certain amount of translucency to it. In certain light it almost glows! There are no makers marks but I think it is by Houze based on others Ive seen on the internet although I cant be sure. Did other companies produce this shape? I do not know. I believe Houze used stickers which often fall off after so many years. Unfortunately there are some chips in the jadeite. (See photos) FORTUNATELY the chips are positioned on the back- or can be. Each of the jadeite components that make up the base, can move independent of each other so if the chipped areas get swiveled, you can swivel them back very easily. Overall, at first sight, the chips are difficult to see anyway, because of the nature of this jadeite. It is so gorgeous you dont notice any small details- you only notice the almost glowing QUALITY and enchanting composition of the jadeite itself. (See photos for closeups) The first time I saw it, I gasped. It took my breath away. I didnt see the chips until I began photographing it. Approximate measurements; the lamp is 12.5 inches tall from base to the top of socket. The Base diameters 5.5. The shades in the photos are not a part of the listing but are there for display purposes only. The lamp requires a clip-on shade or uno type shade. It is not equipped with a harp. This lamp was rewired many years ago so its wiring is not in its original condition. I know this because the original wire which was a ragged yellow cloth wire was stored with this lamp. I dont know what year they rewired it. It works fine for me but want you to be sure and be safe. The previous owner has been gone for 20 years so at the very least, the wiring is 20 yrs old but I know it was longer ago than that- I just dont know exactly when it was done. I hate to part with this beauty. Im downsizing and have more stuff than I can keep so it is all going up for your consideration. Vintage Mid-Century Modern Flying Saucer UFO Atomic Age Desk or Table Lamp
Id-century modern Flying Saucer UFO Atomic Age desk or table lamp. Wheeler Sight Light shades. The vintage lamp is 16 tall, the shade 13 in diameter and the base 6-1/2 in diameter. The original paint finish is in good condition for its age and use though it has a few scratches and wear on the base and top and underside of the shade (see photos). The lamp has the original cord and wiring and is in very good working condition. The shade fits easily into the upper area where the light bulb is housed. A 40 watt CFL or LED light bulb is recommended to prevent the shade from becoming too hot (not included). This is a beautiful vintage lamp from the atomic era. UFO Flying Saucer lamps.
