The base is constructed of wood, and then on the interior there are brass rods that echo that bowed out shape of the wooden elements on the exterior. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket. We are uncertain as to the maker of the lamp – there are no labels / tags present. It’s a great vintage lamp that is ready to be enjoyed in a new home! The lamp base measures approx. 33.5″ tall (measured from then bottom of the round wooden base to the light socket) x 9.5″ wide x 9.5 deep. The round base at the very bottom of the lamp measures approx. With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. The shade itself measures approx. 19″ tall x 13.25″ in diameter (top) x 17 in diameter (bottom). Again, PLEASE NOTE – the listing is for the LAMP BASE ONLY. It does work, however the cord is old and possibly original, the fabric wrapping is frayed in some areas.
