Vintage art deco akro agate uranium vaseline glass lamp base. Beautiful caramel swirl colors, 8 panel footed base. All surface clean inside and out, new wiring, new socket insulator, new old stock Leviton USA art deco plug end with new insulator disc, ready to use lighting. Base only, no shade. Displays nicely, all brass clean and polished. Damage free glass with the exception of some roughness under the brass socket mount, not damage but part of the creation process, unseen as it is under the threaded brass socket attaching collar. Also to mention is a small ding in the bottom of the socket base, unseen as it is at the underside of the socket base and does not hinder safe operation, age and use related. Awesome, vintage lamp – marked: Houze X Glass, Point Marion PA. Probably from the 30′s or 40′s. This is a beautiful lamp in great vintage condition. As you can see from photos, it works. Check out the plug on the cord! Chain pull for on/off works fine. Fabric covered cord and plug are good. The shade is a heavy plastic, has a nice shape. Its got sort of a satin finish. There is some fading on the inside on the shade but its fine on the outside. I’m not sure if it’s original to the lamp, but that’s the way I bought it. Takes a standard size bulb, not included. Magnificent Large Art-Deco Bridge Style Table Lamp. This piece is absolutely one of a kind – I know this because I created it from the best parts of about half a dozen table and floor lamps. Kind of a “Frankenlamp”. Ornate cast iron base. The decorative glass pieces are a type of Jadeite Houze glass and yellow Vaseline Uranium glass. The yellow pieces do glow under a black light. All metal pieces, cast iron and brass, have been refinished in an oil rubbed bronze quality paint with a light clear coat. The lamp has been completely rewired with a cloth covered cord appropriate to the period. The socket shell is vintage with a new 3 way switch inside (yes they do make 3 way led bulbs). The stepped jade color base makes this piece stand out. This piece makes a real statement standing at 38 inches tall. The shade shown in a couple of the pictures is shown as an example only and is not included. It is better that the new owner chooses a shade to make it truly their own. This is an excellent original vintage (1930′s) art deco style table lamp with two sockets, the original finial, and two green marbled akro agate glass accent pieces. Condition is excellent; the original gold and black finish is intact and in good condition with minor light wear and a naturally aged patina overall. Nothing is cracked or broken and the glass pieces are not damaged, but one of them sits slightly lopsided on the post, probably because one of the small metal spacer rings on the post is slightly bent. The cardboard candle socket covers appear to be newer replacements, and the cord is in very good condition and might have been replaced, but there is a piece of tape on the cord where it exits the bottom of the lamp and might indicate a splice. The lamp is working and there is a rotary switch on the cord for convenience. Because of it’s age, all electrical components on the lamp should be inspected for safety before use.
