After making a career of producing Danish Modern styled wood lamps they produced this wood masterpiece for a changing marketplace. In the seventies, simultaneously there were competing decorator trends – an Art Deco revival and a rustic “earth” design trend. With this lamp we can see the two trends merge in a lamp that is rustic and textured as a knotty pine and yet has minimalist smooth lines as if it were a Deco piece! This piece is the byproduct of its time and was the literal end of an era for the handcrafted lamp throughout the world.
