This has a three way switch to light up one, two, or all three globes. The tension rod has a strong spring, the working height of all sections with tension is 87 to 93. But I suppose the center section could go unused if you need it alot shorter. The shades are excellent condition, just a little dusty inside, the brown metal pole is fine, the gold color arms show some overall plating wear. I did not try to clean or polish anything, you are getting it exactly as I found it. The light does break down to sections as shown in some of the photos. The light is in working order but as with any old lamp it is always recommended to have it checked out by a qualified electrician before using it.
