Super cool and rare COBRA lamp with art glass shade on a marble base. In very nice condition, with the exception of 4 or 5 tiny spots of missed paint on the glass shade during manufacturing which are not very noticeable (photo 12), and slight finish wear on the metal. Vintage, Very Rare French Snake Figural / Sculpture Bronze Table Lamp C. 1910
Fine Arts, Antiques and Collectibles. Extremelly rare French Art Nouveau period figural table lamp with original shade, made in cast bronze and brass whit silvered finish. The scultural lamp depicting a vivid naturalistic scene. Cast bronze base in the form of a highly detailed snake with coiled body around remnants of a bird of prey and long neck rising up. From the opening of the mouth holds a brass shade with organic motif finely hand chiseled. In the border have 11 blue opalescent circular jewels diam. 1 1/4 or 3 cm and blue silk fringe. The lamp is marked “FRANCE” on the botton the bird of prey talon. Very good original condition. The surfaces have some occasional scratches and areas of wear consistent with age and use. Some traces of surface soiling concentrated to the recessed contours of the design and the shade, consistent with age. The original silvered have fading, some color changes on the bronze parts. All the opalecent jewels are y perfect condition. The lamp is functional, have vintage blue cord silk and socket-lamp. Th e silk fringe has been remplaced. If required US plug will be provided. Super unique Cobra lamp in pretty nice shape. Although it does have a little finish wear to the metal, the design still shows well.
