Authentic Antique 1939 World’s Fair Collectible Saturn Lamp Houze Glass Works
Authentic 1939 World’s Fair Pink Saturn Lamp by Houze Glass Works. There is some chipping around the bottom lip of the planet Saturn and a crack as shown in the photos. The damage was caused long ago by someone changing the bulb and not seating the top globe portion correctly. It looks and displays wonderfully even still as the crack is in the back when on display. The original lamp socket, switch, and cord are still intact and functioning. We are offering this rare lamp example at a discount due to the minor condition issues. We actually have another in pristine condition or we would not be parting with this one. We will package the lamp with extreme care and mark it as extremely fragile. Rare Vintage Saturn Satellite Space Age Atomic Brass Table Lamp Made by Philip J. Beautiful unique design perfect for your Machine / Space Age MCM decor scheme. Greenspan, New York, NY, 1950′s. The lamp is in excellent condition and works perfectly. The brass base is nice and shiny with only one small dent. The painted black metal spokes are excellent with only some very minor paint wear. The Saturn shaped section is super nice with one very small barely perceptible ding. Lamp comes with harp and finial but does not come with lamp shade. Height (no harp): 16¾” Height (with harp): 24″ Diameter of base: 6¼. D E S C R I P T I O N. This is a very unique hard to find Saturn / Satellite Space / Machine Age Atomic brass table lamp made by Philip J. In New York during the 1950′s. Greenspan, was the founder of a lamp manufacturing concern bearing his name, which manufactured lamps and lamp shades in three factories at Elmsford, N. That employed more than 300 workers. The lamp is in perfect working condition with an on/off switch on the socket. It measures 16¾” high not including the harp and has a base that is 6¼” in diameter. This sale is for the lamp, harp and finial only, and does not include the lamp shade or any of the other items in the photos. This neat futuristic / space age Saturn brass table lamp features an incredible design that will be the focal point of any room. It has a lovely shiny brass base topped with an upside down cone-shaped black spoked section (16 spokes in all). The top of the lamp has a beautiful brass Saturn shape section where the rings cross-sect the sphere at a 45 degree angle. It comes with ornated brass finial on top. The lamp is in excellent condition, the brass base is nice and shiny with only one small dent along the top edge and some age patina. The painted black metal spokes that make up the body of the lamp are excellent with only some very minor paint wear. The lamp is in great shape for its age and works perfectly. It is one of the coolest Saturn lamps I have ever seen. Please look carefully at the pictures as there is one dent in the base under the Saturn and a small crack at the bottom of the base.
